Eagle, IDAHO (February 11, 2016) -- In a recent survey conducted by the Idaho Potato Commission (IPC), it was revealed that consumers aren’t aware that potatoes are a potassium-rich food. While 89% of Americans consider bananas to be a significant source of potassium, only 27% associate potatoes with potassium.

Seconds before midnight, against a backdrop of fireworks, a 17-foot long potato was lowered by crane into a crowd of more than 40,000 revelers.

Idaho Potato Commission is the Naming Sponsor of the Premier Cold-Weather College Football Game

Boise, Idaho (December 29, 2015) - The Utah State University Aggies (Mountain West Conference) were the predicted victors of the Famous Idaho® Potato Bowl, but the Akron Zips (Mid-American Conference) played strong and hard to win their first bowl game ever on the blue turf of Albertsons Stadium in Boise, Idaho. The cold-weather game aired live on ESPN and ESPN Radio on Tuesday, December 22^nd with millions of fans tuning in from across the country. 

EAGLE, Idaho (December 16, 2015) -- Hungry football fans across the country entered the Idaho Potato Commission’s (IPC) first-ever Tailgating Recipe Contest for a chance to win an all-expense paid trip to the Famous Idaho® Potato Bowl in Boise on December 22. Hundreds of “spudtacular” recipes were entered, but Crystal Schlueter’s Tackling Tater Tacos, with spiced Idaho® potatoes drizzled with a delectable chipotle honey slaw and irresistible chorizo crema, won over the hearts…and stomachs of the judges.
